Arenal Lake Kayaking

Our kayaking tour on Lake Arenal is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area while enjoying an exciting outdoor activity.

The tour begins near the Arenal Dam, where you’ll learn about the lake’s fascinating origin—how it was formed as part of a hydroelectric project—and its importance to the local ecosystem and Costa Rica’s energy supply.

As you paddle along the shoreline, you’ll be surrounded by lush rainforest. With a bit of luck, you might spot some of the region’s amazing wildlife, including peccaries, river otters, herons, cormorants, and many other species that call this area home.

Midway through the tour, take a break at our floating playground. Here, you can enjoy a refreshing swim, relax on the water, or take a leap from our platform tower if you’re feeling adventurous—it’s a perfect mix of relaxation and adrenaline.

This combination of adventure and safety makes it an ideal experience for families looking to enjoy the outdoors together. Whether you’re seeking excitement or simply a fun day in nature, it’s a perfect way to create lasting memories.

How large are our excursion groups?
We prefer to keep our groups small—10 to 12 people max—in order to provide the best possible attention to each guest.

What is the minimum age allowed?
We provide life jackets for children aged 3 and up. However, we encourage parents with children that young to consider taking a boat ride instead.

What else is around?
