A country shaped by water
Costa Rica is known for its tropical climate and lush rainforests. The country experiences a significant amount of rainfall throughout the year, especially on the Caribbean coast and in the central mountainous regions. The annual rainfall in Costa Rica ranges from approximately 1,500 to 4,000 millimeters (59 to 157 inches), with the highest precipitation occurring during the wet season, which typically extends from May to November. This is an impressive difference compared to USA (1,500 to 2,500 millimeters (59 to 98 inches) with desertic regions getting as few as 250mm (10 inches)), Germany 500 to 1,500 millimeters (20 to 59 inches) or Spain’s Galicia 1,000 to 1,500 millimeters (39 to 59 inches), or Madrid from 300 to 600 millimeters (12 to 24 inches) per year.
