Lake Arenal (Lago Arenal) is the biggest lake in Costa Rica, situated in the northern region of the country very close to the town of La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano. This man-made lake not only provides the country with a massive amount of hydroelectric power, but is also a beautiful place for water sports, recreation and wildlife sightings.
